Unveiling the Mysteries of Island of Kauai – Top 5 Hot Spots

Island of Kauai

If you are a travel freak you got to spend some quality time at the island of Kauai sometimes. Hawaii already known as one of the best tourist destinations of the world comes out at its best in Kauai. With the amazing beauty and feel of the Hawaii it is just the right place to be for a vacation.

So what are you waiting for, just pack your bags and slip off for a break to unveil the mysteries of Kauai. If you love Hawaii, fall in love with it all over again with this visit!

The Island of Kauai is the oldest of the main Hawaii Island and there are a few places that you should visit if possible in order to make your stay memorable. Given below is a list of some of those:

Maloaa Bay: Situated on the northeast shore on the island of Kauai, this place is a film maker’s delight because of the beauty. It presents a unique and exotic scenic beauty that you would not like to miss. The bay stretches as far as 0.44 miles and empties into the north end of the beach which has high cliffs.  If you move uphill from the bay you can also take a look at the Moloa’a Forest Reserve. Interestingly scenes from many big films like the Gilligan’s Island pilot have been shot here.

Hanaelei Colony Resort: If you want to hear the roar of the ocean loud and clear this is the best place to be. It is just the right place that you had always wanted. The HCR is far up the north shore but not quite at the end of the road, so it may take some time to get there from the airport. But it is place you would hate to leave once you’re in. The roar of the ocean is pretty loud so you may not be able to hear anything else but who cares as long as you love it!

Waimea Plantation Cottages: If you have some kind of sponsorship or contacts you can get a feel of this exotic place. The huge lobby with the open porch the spreads out across the lawns and down to the ocean is amazing. Waimea being a kind of a trendy local town does not have much to offer but if you visit this resort you got to love it. The resort gives you the feel of the spirit of old Hawaii and the blend of nature with birds, trees, cottage porch, or ice tea gives you just the right break.

Opaekaa Falls: This is a beautiful waterfall located on the Wailua River in Wailua River State Park. It is on the eastern side of the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Created out of volcanic eruptions millions of years ago the waterfall is a piece of beauty. The water fall is quite spectacular and is one of the island’s few waterfalls that can be seen from the road. It flows all the year round and gives a panoramic picture.

Ishihara Market: If you are crazy for poke (i.e the Hawaiian dish made from raw tuna) Ishihara is the place you should look out for. It is one of the best places where you get the best poke on Kauai. Though it is a small supermarket island in Waimea you can get almost twelve kinds of poke and some delicious seaweed salads too.
