Top 6 Tips For The Perfect Static Caravan Holiday

Static Caravan Holiday

As the winter nights start to draw in and the sky has a seemingly constant grey hue to it, the temptation for many during this time of year is just to stay inside and hibernate. However, there are still plenty of things you can do during this season, especially if you think outside the box. Or, in this case, inside a very comfortable one.

Opting for a static caravan holiday gives you the perfect opportunity to take the whole family away to somewhere new without having to break the bank. Getting away from it all with a loved one also gives you precious alone time and a chance to unwind from the hectic schedule of the 21st century lifestyle. If you’re looking to make the most of it, here are six simple tips to ensure you have a great time.

1. Bring some of your home comforts…
Don’t think you can survive without your iPad somewhere new? Want to bring some of your favourite DVDs and Blu-Rays? Do just that and enjoy them during your downtime. No need to worry about charging them, your static caravan will come with plenty of sockets to make sure you never have to see the dreaded low battery bar. You can also pick up portable battery packs for the getaway so you never have to worry about being short on entertainment.

2. …but not all of them
When you go somewhere new, it can be too easy to bring too much stuff that you may never need. Do you really need to bring a games console? Your whole wardrobe? Consider this before you start packing your bags, you could save yourself a lot of time and enjoy your holiday more by challenging yourself to do things outside of your comfort zone. You definitely do not need to bring your PC, 40” TV or anything that could prove to be just cumbersome to transport.

3. Find out about the area
Whether you’re going to the coast or somewhere different, it’s the perfect opportunity to explore somewhere new and find out what it has to offer. The United Kingdom’s history is so rich and storied that almost every city, town, and village has its own tale to discover. Places of natural beauty are aplenty and opting for a spot on the coast means that you will be able to unwind on the beach as well – just as long as you don’t mind a bit of a breeze in the winter!

4. Bring some spending money
One of the great things about choosing a static caravan near the coast is that you will never be lacking places to visit like arcades, shops, and restaurants. If you’re with the kids, they will almost certainly want to while a few hours away in the arcades, so a big bag of pennies might be in order – you might not have a better excuse to crack open the piggy bank! Noticed some new clothes that you might not be able to find back home? Use your spending money without a shadow of guilt and treat yourself.

5. Eating in or eating out?
Being on holiday can sometimes be havoc for your waistline and wallet as you splash the cash on nights out and treat yourself to meals at restaurants. However, if you’re worried that your static caravan might not be the best place to cook food in, you’re actually mistaken. Many modern caravans come with many of the necessary amenities to ensure that you don’t miss the kitchen at home. If all else fails, bring on the barbecue.

6. Say hello to your neighbours
One of the best things about choosing a static caravan in its own dedicated park is that you will be involved in a friendly community filled with like minded people who want to get away from it all and relax. Shooting the breeze over a barbecue with a drink in your hand as your kids socialise and play is one of life’s small pleasures and could provide you with new friends for life. Better yet, you can invite some old friends along for the ride and escape the hectic 9-5 somewhere where the home stresses are left behind.
